“This story is a captivating blend of Christian science fiction, fantasy, and mystery. For 11-14-year-old readers who enjoy books such as A Wrinkle In Time.” “Do you believe in angels?” “The Girl Who Captured the Stars, the first book in author L.B. Anne’s Sheena Meyer series is fantastic! I like how Sheena figures out she has powers, and how she trusts her friends but wants to protect them also. Some parts of the story are sad. Some parts of the story are scary. But some parts of the story are so funny, they made me laugh out loud!” Amazon Reviewer”What am I?” Sheena Meyer is the girl who brings an extra lunch to school each day just in case someone doesn’t have lunch. She’s also the girl who questions and investigates everything, driving her parents and teachers nuts. She spends most days waiting for some grand event to happen and change her life, but she won’t have to wait much longer. The Murk is coming for her because of a gift she doesn’t know she has. Nine years ago an angel appeared in front of select kids all over the world. In Michigan, it appeared in a willow tree in front of a four-year-old little girl. She’s the only child who saw it, the one with the gift. Sheena is now thirteen and has since forgotten what she saw. But things change when her father is in a terrible accident, and she witnesses a supernatural being save him. “I saw what you did. Come Back!” An elderly man, a peculiar new kid at school, and mysterious text messages will change everything Sheena has ever believed in, sweeping her out of a humdrum, teenage, existence, and setting in motion what one little girl’s destiny can mean to the world.★★★★★Safe, clean, great reads for middle schoolers! Amazon ReviewerI have a 13 year old daughter who loves to read but we are really cautious over what she reads. She is also really picky about what she reads so finding something we approve and she likes can be a challenge. I read all 3 books in the series before giving them to her and loved them myself! They’re we’re a fun light read as an adult and they were safe but interesting for a middle schooler to read. The first day I had her start reading she read 11 chapters in The Girl Who Looked Beyond the Stars because she couldn’t put it down! She can’t wait to read more and says she’ll finish all 3 quick because they’re so good and she has to know what happens! Also love that the main characters are black and they talk about curly hair, it’s great for my daughter to read books with characters who represent what she looks like. Thankful I found these books for my daughter!

                          --

Shwetabh Gangwar is a professional problem-solver—and he’s ace at it. For the past five years, people from all over the world have contacted him with their troubles and he’s worked these out for them.

In the process, he has picked up on a simple pattern: people need a set of principles and perspectives to protect them from all the unnecessary bullshit they go through. Codes to live by, essentially.

But be warned: Gangwar has no desire to spare your feelings. What you will find in this straight-forward, straight-talking, no-craps-given guide, is:

How to deal with rejections of all kinds

How to change your perceptions of people so you don’t end up screwed

Why a society that sees people as ‘good and bad’ is dumb

How the search for happiness screws us over

How seeking approval and acceptance kills our individuality

The truth about social media influencers

Why we should be taught ‘how to think’, instead of ‘what to think’

Laying out clear principles, YouTube megastar Gangwar shows you how to deal with the shit that has happened to you, is happening to you and will happen to you.

A refreshing, easy-to-read, and relatable guide, The Rudest Book Ever will make you rethink everything you’ve been taught.

                          --

Is opening up to international trade good for everybody?

Do immigrants from poorer countries take away jobs from low-income native workers? Why is inequality exploding everywhere? Does redistribution actually undermine incentives? Should we worry about the rise of artificial intelligence or celebrate it? How do we manage the trade-off between growth and climate change? Is economic growth over in the West? Should we care?

Figuring out how to deal with today’s critical economic problems is the great challenge of our time. Much greater than space travel, perhaps even than curing cancer – what is at stake is the whole idea of the good life and, perhaps, of liberal democracy itself. We have the resources to solve these problems; what we lack are ideas that will help us jump the wall of disagreement and distrust that divides us. Only if we can engage seriously in this quest, and if the best minds in the world work with governments and civil society to redesign our social programs for effectiveness and political viability, will history remember our era with gratitude.

In this revolutionary book, renowned MIT economists Abhijit V. Banerjee and Esther Duflo take on this challenge, building on cutting-edge research in economics, explained with lucidity and grace. Original, provocative, and urgent,G ood Economics for Hard Times makes a persuasive case for intelligent interventions toward a society built on compassion and respect. It is an extraordinary book, one that will help us appreciate and understand our precariously balanced world.

The stunning new poetry collection from Rupi Kaur, worldwide bestselling author of milk and honey.

From Rupi Kaur, the top ten Sunday Times bestselling author of milk and honey, comes her long-awaited second collection of poetry. Illustrated by Kaur, the sun and her flowers is a journey of wilting, falling, rooting, rising and blooming. It is a celebration of love in all its forms.

this is the recipe of life
                          said my mother
as she held me in her arms as i wept
think of those flowers you plant
                          in the garden each year
                          they will teach you
                          that people too
                          must wilt
                          fall
                          root
                          rise
                          in order to bloom

Hi, I'm Radhika Mehta and I'm getting married this week. I work at Goldman Sachs, an investment bank. Thank you for reading my story. However, let me warn you.

You may not like me too much. One, I make a lot of money. Two, I have an opinion on everything. Three, I have had a boyfriend before. OK, maybe two.

Now if all this was the case with a guy, one might be cool with it. But since I am a girl these three things I mentioned don’t really make me too likeable, do they?

                          --

It is rightly said that habits make or break a man. If you want to know why you are not doing something right, sometimes all you need is to perform an analysis of your habits and consider altering them. Because sometimes it’s not about what you do, but more about how you do it! And that’s where your habits play a very important role.

'The 7 habits of Highly Effective People' is a book that aims at providing its readers with the importance of character ethics and personality ethics. The author talks about the values of integrity, courage, a sense of justice and most importantly, honesty. The book is a discussion about the seven most essential habits that every individual must adopt to in order to live a life which is more fulfilling.

                          Content of the book:

The author continues to take the readers through the journey of character development. He elaborates how the development of the character of a being ranges from the time of his birth to the years until he grows independent. The first three habits demark the development one goes from dependence to independence. The next three habits describe in detail about interdependence while the final seventh habit deals with the new self, that is renewal.

The book is highly recommended for people of all ages. It also holds a record of having over 25 million copies sold in about as many as 40 languages all over the world.

                          About the Author:

Stephen R Covey, the author of the book, is known to hold an MBA from the Harvard University. In his previous years of schooling, Covey also has studied Religious Education and Business Administration. It was in his doctoral thesis that Covey came across a contrast in the literature regarding self-help. His observations marked that the books post 1920’s focused highly on personality traits while the ones before that focused on character development. That is when the author put forth his belief about how a balance between the two is more essential than the two in isolation.
